This painting has been stuck at this stage for about three weeks. Many things have impeded it's momentum, spring break, nice weather, back problems. Those are all just excuses that have little traction slowing this thing up. The real problem is that the subject matter of this painting is gloomy. Conceived in the dark days of winter it no longer seems to be relevant in the spring, it's harsh.
